Devotional
The disciples experienced an emotional rollercoaster unlike any other. First, they witnessed Jesus’ brutal crucifixion. Then came the empty tomb. And for forty days afterward, Jesus appeared and disappeared unpredictably. Just when they might adjust to one reality, everything changed again. Can you relate to their bewilderment? Life often throws unexpected changes our way. Just when we think we understand our circumstances, something shifts. We might even feel abandoned, wondering where God is when we need Him most. The disciples’ experience teaches us something profound about faith. True belief isn’t the absence of confusion—it’s trusting God in the midst of it. When Jesus ascended, He didn’t leave His followers without hope. He promised the Holy Spirit would come, bringing power and presence. This pattern continues in our lives today. God rarely explains everything at once. Instead, He invites us to trust Him one step at a time, even when the full picture remains unclear. The disciples’ journey from bewilderment to belief reminds us that confusion isn’t the opposite of faith—it’s often the pathway to deeper trust. When circumstances leave you bewildered, remember that God is working even in uncertainty. The same Jesus who prepared His disciples for His departure is preparing you for whatever comes next.
Bible Verse
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” – Acts 1:8

Prayer
Heavenly Father, in times of confusion and change, help me remember that You’re still in control. When I feel bewildered by circumstances, strengthen my faith. Thank You that You don’t demand perfect understanding—only trust. Fill me with Your Spirit’s power to witness to Your goodness even in uncertain times. Amen.
