Devotional
Have you ever struggled to understand something important? The disciples faced this challenge as they tried to grasp Jesus’ mission. Despite walking with Him for years, they couldn’t comprehend God’s plan until Jesus intervened. After His resurrection, Jesus spent time with His bewildered followers. They had witnessed His death, discovered His empty tomb, and experienced His unexpected appearances. Imagine their confusion! Yet Jesus didn’t leave them in this state. Instead, He opened their minds to understand Scripture. This divine illumination wasn’t just about giving them information—it was about equipping them for their future mission. Jesus helped them see how everything written about Him in the law, prophets, and Psalms needed fulfillment. He connected the dots between ancient prophecies and recent events. We often face similar moments of confusion in our faith journey. We read Scripture but struggle to apply it. We face circumstances that don’t make sense. In these moments, we can take comfort knowing that Jesus still opens minds today through His Word. Just as He prepared the disciples for His ascension, Jesus prepares us for our calling. He doesn’t expect us to figure everything out on our own. Instead, He reveals truth progressively, opening our understanding as we’re ready to receive it.
Bible Verse
“Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, and said to them, ‘Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead.'” – Luke 24:45-46
Reflection Question
When was the last time you experienced a moment of spiritual clarity—when something in Scripture or about God’s plan suddenly made sense to you? How did that understanding change your perspective?
Quote
“In the Bible, Jesus explains a lot of things to us. Because is he always there right beside us to tell us what it means? No, but sometimes we need to know, what does this mean?”
Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank you for not leaving us to figure things out alone. Open my mind to understand Your Word and Your will for my life. Help me trust Your plan even when I don’t fully comprehend it. Give me patience in confusion and gratitude in moments of clarity. Amen.
